Data management for Smart cities and regions

Challenge

More and more data is being collected in public spaces. This is mostly public data, some of which can efficiently be used (e.g. street name, parking lot occupancy), but also some completely private data (e.g. individual water consumption). With the help of this data, cities can more easily be managed and resource savings can be realized. However, a targeted management of such interesting data has only taken place to a limited extent or in individual subject areas so far. A suitable solution for a sustainable smart city (data) infrastructure that complies with data protection regulations is still missing in Switzerland at the present time.

Goal

The aim of the project is the definition and exchange of experiences concerning the use of data in a "Smart City". Special attention will be paid to the interoperability between different systems and scalability through the possibility of cooperation between different actors.
